Dichroic crystal gem

A tiny crystal made from three completely different pieces of shifting dichroic glass.

This one-of-a-kind necklace was handcrafted from three individually cut pieces of dichroic glass, each with its own color, texture and reaction to light. Shades of blue, pink, green, purple and gold appear and disappear as the necklace moves, giving every section of the crystal its own personality.

Each tiny piece was individually cut, ground, copper foiled and carefully soldered together by hand to create the faceted crystal shape. Working with multiple pieces of stained glass at this scale requires an incredible amount of precision, especially where all of those tiny seams meet.

Finished with lead-free solder and a stainless steel chain, with a .925 sterling silver chain upgrade available.

Both photos show this exact necklace in different lighting. The dramatic difference between them is entirely from the way the dichroic glass interacts with light.
